Someone I know made their own way to Lister A&E with a serious asthma attack. Person made to wait for some three hours without being treated, no nebulizer, asked for it, was told by a nurse to wait for a doctor. During this waiting time the person was suffering, she felt like she was going to die, but a nurse did not treat. Had an ambulance been called they probably would have treated with nebulizer. You expect to receive a good service at A&E i.e. to be treated speedily without waiting so long.
Admitted for heart attack. Cardiac team were amazing, and ward aftercare very good too.
It was my mum's 2 week inpatient stay here. The nurses and doctors were attentive and caring. The parking charges for visits over 1 week are reasonable with monthly pass. Overall had all the facilities that were reasonably needed.
I would like to thank all the staff at the Endoscopy unit today for making my appointment so quick and easy and friendly. My appointment was 11.45am for my camera. I was seen to straight away and on my way home by 1pm. Very impressed. The staff were amazing.
The hospital staff are excellent and are very professional. However when it comes to catering the hospital is seriously lacking. If you are visiting in the evening there is nowhere to get anything to eat and only vending machines for snacks and sub standard hot drinks. The trust could make so much money by providing far better facilities. As for food whilst in hospital I lost 2 stone last time I was in because the food is so bad. I ordered a sausage casserole for lunch one day and got a plate with tomato sauce a slice of carrot and NO SAUSAGE. Another time I ordered a stew and got a plate full of gristle. How are patients meant to get better with food that most people wouldn't feed their pets. The CEO Mr Nic Carver believes the food is excellent, he should talk to patients who have not been prepped to give the answers he wants to hear and take action to improve the catering through out the hospital. He is failing the patients and visitors in his hospital. If he wants to talk to me I am on dialysis at 12.00 every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
